| _____________________________________ [Jun 2,2006 8:15pm - the_reverend ""] I see xmikex gets grumpy when he's tired. he's sure going to sleep well tonight! unholy grave: all the other bands were good, but this band was what got me out of going to one of the 10 closer shows and tracking all the way down to RI. This band is the reason it's 1:30am, I have a 2hr drive, and work in the morning, but I'm still sitting in a neglected part of RI waiting for a band from japan to play. This was the first band that played MDF actually played better at MDF. I think the sound for them was much clearer down south and they had a lot more room to move around. This show was tight and homey so they had all the people in the audience litterally on their laps. The set still ruled. This riced fueled band was running around the whole set with smiling. They ended at the strike of 2am and didn't do encore, even though they were begged. I got home at 4am. got to bed by 4:30am... got woken up at 6am cause of the cats and then again at 7am cause of a leaky roof. finally got up at 7:40am for work. now, I wonder why I keep falling asleep with my eyes open! |

I'm not your mother I don't have to pretend to like everything you do, but I went out of my way to say I liked your band before. So you're welcome asshole. Your singer talked too much. It's a valid criticism. I don't care if he has a microphone, a megaphone or a cellphone. It was distracting and annoying and it made an otherwise decent set look dumb. I am in a band. I've been doing bands for years playing all over the place. I know very well that it's easy to get nervous and have a tendency to talk way too much in between songs. It might seem like a decent idea when you're standing there with the mic but to people in the crowd who might not peticularly care it's annoying. Haha, I can name an instance or two from years ago when I talked for too long, or told a story that grossed everybody out or something and a dozen kids at a time would get up and walk out. Honestly, you nerds are blowing it out of proportion. Everybody who knows me from here knows I'm never serious about anything I post. I actually did have a fun time at this show hanging out with kids I hadn't seen in a while. But the fact is that this show could have run A LOT smoother than it did, and lame assholes like me who have to wake the hell up in the morning could have enjoyed it as much as the rest of you did. Don't talk to me about being Mr. Professional Band Guy. If you're in a band you should be prepared for criticism. And there's a lot worse things that could be said besides "your singer talks too much". What a crybaby. I'm sure we've both been called a lot worse by disgruntled show-goers for a lot less. Then again what the hell do I know. I don't even own any King Diamond on vinyl or whatever you kids think is cool. Grow up, suck it up, learn how to accept criticism. Have a good weekend everybody! |
