I'm here. I missed one band called slayed innonce. I don't think devil in the kitchen is playing... not sure. band's sets seem a little longer than yesterday. today they are handing out meal tickets. it also seems like there are already more people here today.

meal ticket is a good idea..

get well soon pam! i need to see you play too!

oh and aaron i saw a commercial for the nikon d50..they are really pushing it...one of the electronic shops has it on black friday too..

I got meal tickets yesterday, it took two to get the grossest hot dog I've ever had, but it did the trick!

And yes, Carina, you do need to see us play!!! I got my meds, I'll be better in a day or two. Thanks pretty!

I want a d50. Someone buy me one. c'mon.

[Nov 20,2005 3:33pm - the_reverend ""]
the hot shoe on my D100 is fucked up. I should probably take a look at it w/ a stereoscope or something. it's probably a simple fix and not worth $100+ to get nikon to fix it.
f the D50. I mean I wouldn't turn it down if I got a free one, but I want a D2X ($5K) and a D200 ($1.6k)!

*sigh* anyhow...

contagion: (main stage) ok, let's get the fact out of the way that this band was sweet 16. Yes, they were very young kids, but I think that people can't remeber 10+ years (or much much longer) back when they were 16 and that there were kids who were able to do this and didn't just sit at home, jerking off and playing video games. Ok, these kids were really good. It was like a little version of cannibal corpse. I'm pretty sure they grabbed a bunch of new fans today.

i wonder what aaron will get with his meal ticket? some bread? lol

I fed him pizza and broccoli and cheese bites for his drive to the show...wouldn't want him to endure another gross subway trip..

the d50 looks nice...compusa will have a sale on black friday:
Nikon D50 Digital SLR Camera w/ PictureMate Printer - $799.99

deep vox, or just shrill pre-pubes ones?

deep, but there were some gore gutterals that sound pitch shifted.

NeverSayNever: (second stage) so I was the one that opened the door and let all the people in. For some reason, there was a closed door at the bottom of the stairs. They played pretty good, but I was standing next to the PA and the vocals were ruff. The singer then appologizes for bad vocals. This set wasn't as good as the BS set, but I think that this is a band that thrives more on crowd response and well there still isn't that much of a crowd to respond to them at 1pm on a sunday.
PS: for a 70s pornstar, your drummer, john holmes, is pretty good.

within choking range: (main stage) I had never heard them that I remeber. They were really good. Tight playing. They were the first of the metalcore block on the mainstage. They sort of sounded like ATTWN, but without the melodic parts.

[Nov 20,2005 4:06pm - the_reverend ""]
devil in the kitchen: (second stage) I had previously tought that they were playing, but I walked up in to some one with a prosthetic arm-type violin thing. This band is like a metal ho-down with alex TTOS on drums. And yes, if you are wondering, just like with TTOS, his eyes are always closed in my pictures.

shot down sun: (main stage) second in the line of metalcore bands. They actually had some melodic parts to their music. The singer looked a lot like doomkid (rowan from TTOS). I guess he msg me on aim one night and I couldn't talk cause my hands were too sticky.
It was from pamagranites, perverts. One thing about the metalcore genre I noticed is they all have nice heads/cabs that get out a really nice tone. Though I think all metalcore bands should buy the head that blue (raising kubrick) has with one of those metal mesa cabs.

3 headed monster: (second stage) all their songs sound like maiden covers. Well, except for the megadeth cover. Cechini guitar kept messing up. But the once he sprinkled fairy dust or whatever on it and turned it back down they were able to play 2 more jag panzer covers. I have a feeling that kessaris practices more alone than with the band. why do I saw that, cause when something breaks down the rest stops, but could keep on playing not listening to any other member of the band.

and then there were none: (main stage) these guys always put on an awesome show since I've seen them from a start up. They sound a lot like AILD and while I was walking around, someone even commented that they sort of look like AILD. I definitely think with the addition of dts's drummer they need to be tagging on the opener slot of bigger shows.

RA vs. paone tonight if no one else realized that.

misled to ruins: (second stage) metalcoreish. Before they got on stage, I saw the long haired bass and was hoping for a straight metal band, but when the singer came out, I knew they wouldn't be. Btw, the singer's hoodie was on of the coolest thing evah. I personally saw mr jay fest dancing to them.

hand choke neck: (main stage) I ran down to catch the first song of theirs. From the stage it sounded pretty sick. Once I stepped to the way back, the guitars mixed better together and it sounded awsome. Kok and hoser lay down a thick layer of guitar workmanship. It was all fun and games til someone pooh'd their pants.

throwing shrapnel: (second stage) I was told their hygeine increased, but they lied. I thought that W3 went and got a sunO))) cab. He must not have brought it here. I guess they actually like pause? And stuff like that between songs. I didn't hear any of the doomyer parts. Keith was also sick and looked like he was dying the whole time. It only seemed to affect the sound of his vocals at the begining of their set.

bad karma: (main stage) yeah, I have though that I missed these guys. They rule. I'm pretty sure that the singer was in the band meliah rage a long time ago. "Who cares?" all the n00bs are probably asking. Well, imagine a super sick modern guitarist like... Um.. Chris arpman. You all probably seen psyopus and have had you mind blown. Now picture chris doing it with only one arm. Yeah, he plays better than you and he's only got one real arm. The music is a mixture of old school loud rock, thrash, and techy metal.

lunica arma: (second stage) naming you band after a font? Oh, that ludica. These guys were on the hardcore side of metalcore. They played really well and even took jason (SOE) abused from the crowd. they did look a little uncomfortable just playing there. Looked like they aren't used to playing club shows yet.

sinaria: (main stage) what was that about no girl noodlers? This band had 1 guitarist who was female and, though she wsnt actually a noodler, played awsome especially cause she looks just like my cousin ashely (who I think is a cop). I didn't like the vocals. blue and I discussed it and they are sort of like someone trying to do the new lamb of goat..er... god vocals, but missing something.

anamalech: (second stage) another band that I thought I missed cause of no show. They reminded me of scar culture with some of the clitorture talent. The last song especially reminded me of clitorture

REv, we didn't play any jag panzer covers, I just started playing the last track on the Thane to the Thrown CD 'cause when me and Chief lived together over the summer we'd rock out to that and a few beers on our porch around noon to 7pm.

We're power metal, we're supposed to sound Maidenesque. Everything sounds like something....

...thanks for being a good sport during our set, I was about to introduce you but I turned around and you were gone.

Jesus Knevil: (main stage) not really my thing. They were old school metal. I think I needed coffee then.

acariya: (second stage) where's woodo..um..wood? you remeber him from that local band that never played shows around here, command presense. Well, he no longer posts here, but he's back with a new band. No, not something about robots. This is a more hardcore aimed band. They were really good. The crowd was also the largest crowd thus far at the show.

crotalus: (main stage) they ruled. I must saythat I like them better that blisted earth (this band is 75% be members). Jmho. They brought out the singer for Saints in Hell who sung painkiller.

Dour Cursiva: (second stage) I walked in and was like "who the hell.. Oh brian, got it". I like the two singers more than one. They played really good and more importantly made that room sound awesome.
ps: I got pictures of brian's face proving that he does in fact have one.

saints in hell: (main stage) a tribute priest band. The singer sounded more convince with his hi's that the normal vox. I thought that sounded nothing like JP. Fun stuff. the bassplayer from distrust/csdo was in them.

ur lact8ing?

inner self lost: (second stage) the singer had an awesome sceam and a lot of the singing reminde me of commit suicide, but then the other parts were two nu-metaly/panteraish for me.

red right hand: (main stage) I was on the side when they started playing to basically no one. After a few songs, people started coming up to the stage. They started to play a cover of black magic by slayer but things broke down and they had to start over. Oh wait, I wasn't suppose to mention that, oopies.

I can feel the sniffles starting to come. fuck all of you. I've been cold free for over 3 months to be felled this weekend! and I have the week of. sick on my week off? megamega lame!

a terrible night for a curse: (second stage) there was a part where craig asked people to say it sucked.. Well at that point, it did. There was something off. The entire beginning, the sound dude was running around them fixing thing. Finally he did for the last two songs and it sounded really good. Maybe next time they should suggest to the sound guy to do sound checking BEFORE the band plays.

candy striper death orgy: (main stage) with mike behind that kid, their music is so tight. His kit and playing is so different. His blasts are so fast. a typical set from them otherwise. Old school thrash and nuclearwar.

departed, the: (second stage) good set, lots of head banging and spanglish. these guys head bang constantly. Also, the singers has turned and actually sort of faces the crowd now.
