I totally agree... i actually don't know this particular game, but they do it with all the big new game releases, and i hate it. I would be MORE inclined to buy a game after a trailer of actual game-play, than i would after seeing what amounts to a preview for a CGI-Anime. It PROBABLY helps them sell more copies though, i'd assume little kids don't know better, and if they like what the commercial looks like they probably harass their parents for it. Like:
"Call of Duty: Black Ops", i am obsessed with COD MW2, and REALLY wanna know if Black Ops is gonna run on the same engine (even though it's a different company) but the trailer is ALMOST all CGI Anime... there are only like quick flashes of what the game actually looks like.

Not worth the money in any sense. $60 for the game plus $60 for each of the two expainsions totaling $180 for the complete game(The base game alone is not worth even close to $60 for what it has going for it). Waiting 12 years for nothing more than a graphical upgrade to SC1. The new BNet sucks. Good job Blizzard, you ruined another genre I once loved.

This game is a huge upgrade from sc1. I love the research points and credits aspect of it.

how can you not like this game? It's everything a sequel should be: an upgrade from the original without losing the feel of the first. they expanded on the depth as well.
I'm about 6-7 maps in.. So far I'll give it 93 out of 100.

The original Starcraft had cgi movies that were also used in ads.
The game has both awesome cgi movies and equally awesome sequences shot in the game engine.

TM2 sucked. Never liked those titles. I don't plan on playing this online soon because I was too addicted to playing SC1 online at one point.

Really wish this wasn't just on PC. I really liked the ports of Warcraft 2 on the PSone and Starcraft on the N64, so I see no reason why they couldn't do this on the consoles. So much $ they would make.

It's more or less a running gag I have on this board with a few people. The only one I've played with is Reimroc but he only stays in a game for 10 minutes before leaving (ADHD?).
I've been challenging a few for tfc battles to no avail.

I really do like playing games on the PC, i did it as a kid all the time, but THE reason i switched to consoles was exactly what you're saying. One out of every two games i'd buy, i'd have to go back to the computer store and upgrade something. Bullshit. PS3 rules hard.

1300 dollars to be able to play a few games (that are only decreasing in number) or 300-400 dollars to play an ever-increasing number of games. Like I said, I don't care because I myself might be building a PC in the near future for awesomeness and maybe gameplayitude but the fight between the two is stupid. I've got a newer computer; your PS3 is not better as far as specs go.
But yes, upgrading computers for the sole reason of playing games gets old. But, not being a fan of the FPS genre makes your argument invalid. FPS games push boundaries these days.
Everything on PC always looks better than consoles, but the playability and availability of console gaming has made them the champs. PC gaming is not as popular as it used to be, as reflected in your average gamestop.
1998-2002, EB had walls of PC games. Now they're lucky to have a shelf.
RTS needs to stay on PC.
FPSs are better on PC.

FPSs are better on the PC? I don't think that's relevant anymore. Modern Warfare 2 looks as good as any FPS i've seen on PCs or consoles, and there are plenty of buttons on the controller to play the game without awkwardness
. and i'm not putting down pc games, it's just that pc games were always looked at as better because you had so many options for controls with all the buttons on the keyboard, and because of the processing power. PS3 has every bit of processing power that you would need to run any new game on it, and with the right tv, they'll look as good as pc too.
I just think your argument got outdated when they made consoles have all the processing components of pcs.

precisely. which happened the moment they started putting in harddrives, RAM, computeresque video cards, etc. They're computers built for gaming. But keep in mind each generation has a gap of around 3-5 years. Newer computer video cards now are 10x better than that of PS3 and 360. But the next gen systems will match it.
I've played many FPS games on consoles but am partial to having a mouse because I think it's much better for aiming and controlling. Obviosuly everyone has an opinion; FPS games grew up on the PC and I still think PC has advantage in the genre.
Also RTS games on Consoles are just silly.

Blizzard can suck it. My girlfriend and I have been waiting for this release for a while. Since we have to buy two copies just to play together now, that's like almost $400 bucks after taxes.
Also, FPS on PCs give me carpal tunnel (I use a Wacom exclusively). I'd rather sit back on a couch with a root beer and some cookies. Can't do that on a PC.

I still don't get why you think consoles were never computers and now they suddenly are. They've always been computers. They have, however, converged in terms of applications. Surf the internet on your console? GO RIGHT AHEAD... etc etc
I personally like console better because I feel more connected to a game through a computer. I associate keyboard and mouse with writing papers - not fun.

They've always been computers, but I'm speaking in modern terms. Connecting o the net, playing mp3s, OSs, etc. Obviously they've been computers because they've always been machines processing information.
But look at a Sega genesis and compare it to a computer in 1992. Completely different.

Somewhere after Unreal Tournament 2004 I started feeling more comfortable with a game controller than a mouse. Maybe they just started making console FPSs playable.
