Nothing pisses me off more than people who don't believe in climate change[views:21270][posts:191]_________________________________________ [Dec 20,2009 8:39am - TheRidersofDoom ""] I also find it funny that countries like the Phillipines, peru, and brazil have vowed more resources and more of their money to preserving wildlife in their country and forests at Copenhagen, than The big western countries did. Good news is that China and India finally agreed to do something about their emissions...which may make us more likely to commit now. |

(other than my wicked sweet o ring) how the fuck can gas have a hole? el nino was blamed for being warmed directly by these holes. however, it just so happens that el nino is mainly based in a region that has the most under water volcanoes in the world (japan/hawaii etc, right?) - so how can thousands of feet of water pressure that has never seen the sun be warmed so much by it? that's basic science-not sure if those questions were answered or not already within the thread. once you research who is presenting and forcing this agenda-you can't help but realize we've been duped. the real issue has always been OVERPOPULATION. http://www.corrupt.org/data/files/pentti_linkola/ |

The ozone layer has different thicknesses in different parts of the world. Above the south pole it has always been thinner which is why depletion due to CFCs led to a "hole". Its really just a gradient of thick and thin and they called the thinnest spot a hole. |

I'm all for living like a barbarian and killing my food, but there are too many people. Kill all Humans, well at least bring us back to what it was like before the black plague, population wise that is. and I care more about the current ecosystem than anything, yes I am biased towards the current era of life on earth, what we are going towards is a era of just humans, a few herbivores and scavenger species... think rats, seagulls, pigeons, coyotes, deer, and all kinds of insects. Think less large mammals, amphibians, birds, reptiles, and fish I believe 90 percent of all amphibians and reptiles are endangered in MA They call them indicator species because they are the first to go as they are the most sensitive to change in ecosystems and pollutants. In fact, you can learn alot about the health of an ecosystem by the presence of certain species. Yeah, but I don't care about most humans, just enough to get some metal and things I don't care to make myself...it's a vicious cycle! But I don't know, I've spent my whole life watching nature specials, hiking, fishing, taking all kinds of sound biology classes. And I also know to take things with a grain of salt, hence I am totally against electric cars, they are a huggggeeee scam and not to mention, those batteries are highly toxic. I'm just against the current lifestyle we have, dumping all kinds of toxins on our crops, which wash into the sea...hence less fish, coupled with overfishing... If you take a class on environmental science and get a teacher who is informed, my teacher hated al gore and his religion, you learn that we are fucking shit up at an alarming rate...yes when we all die the world will renew itself, but honestly, if you have kids or are going to, do you want them to inherit this shit? and we also live in America, so we really don't understand the costs of our life style, we pass that on to third world countries in the form of sending massive amounts of our garbage there, well Europe does that more than we do... I guess my point is, kill more humans, build less cities |

They've found a few polar bear / grizzly crossbreed bears which alludes that they moving further south. This, however, is being used as scheme to rub the "global warming" agenda in our face. It is not uncommon for many species to die or bottleneck when an ice age happens. Look at all the species that became extinct 10000 years ago. That's just a drop of water in the ocean of time; yet species have come and gone since then. Either way, habitat conservation is vital. It is refreshing to see such pristine environments left on planet earth, far away from the civilized world. |

______________________________ [Dec 23,2009 7:05pm - ark ""] http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009...openhagen-climate-change-mark-lynas Copenhagen was a disaster. That much is agreed. But the truth about what actually happened is in danger of being lost amid the spin and inevitable mutual recriminations. The truth is this: China wrecked the talks, intentionally humiliated Barack Obama, and insisted on an awful "deal" so western leaders would walk away carrying the blame. How do I know this? Because I was in the room and saw it happen. China's strategy was simple: block the open negotiations for two weeks, and then ensure that the closed-door deal made it look as if the west had failed the world's poor once again. And sure enough, the aid agencies, civil society movements and environmental groups all took the bait. The failure was "the inevitable result of rich countries refusing adequately and fairly to shoulder their overwhelming responsibility", said Christian Aid. "Rich countries have bullied developing nations," fumed Friends of the Earth International. All very predictable, but the complete opposite of the truth. Even George Monbiot, writing in yesterday's Guardian, made the mistake of singly blaming Obama. But I saw Obama fighting desperately to salvage a deal, and the Chinese delegate saying "no", over and over again. Monbiot even approvingly quoted the Sudanese delegate Lumumba Di-Aping, who denounced the Copenhagen accord as "a suicide pact, an incineration pact, in order to maintain the economic dominance of a few countries". Sudan behaves at the talks as a puppet of China; one of a number of countries that relieves the Chinese delegation of having to fight its battles in open sessions. It was a perfect stitch-up. China gutted the deal behind the scenes, and then left its proxies to savage it in public. |
