Do they have more live? Yeah, they are just three people, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have to play out with more because no way can three dudes pull those songs off live. |
_______________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 10:42am - the_reverend ""] just for that, I'm going to put their CD in. I'm always a little confused when a band that I sort of like gets huge, but just because someone picked up on the trend and not because they changed what they were doing. heck, I had no firneds in highschool. just did my own thing and listened to "weird" music. then 1/2 way through my junior year, doing your own thing and listening to "weird" music was the cool thing to do so I had all these friends I never had before over night. I didn't like any of them and I don't talk to a single one now, but I got to do more than just sit at home playing video games, watching saved by the bell, and jerking off so that was cool. |

______________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 10:43am - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] Now you can take your video games with you. But jerking off will always be cool. |

____________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 10:51am - dreadkill ""] disillusion uses members of dark suns live |
_________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 10:56am - VoidExpression ""] Whoa! Maybe Dark Suns can play as well in this fantasy fest! |
______________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 10:58am - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] That would be cool. |
______________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:08am - MadOakDevin ""] yeah, i have my doubts in this whole thing. this guy keeps saying i want huge bands, but the venue might be small so it's chill, but i'll get a huge venue and make it less chill if i need to. I don't think he realizes that ticket prices doesn't really pay for all those huge bands to drive here. That's why you need endorsements especially if you're talking tweeter center. good luck. |
__________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:12am - DreamingInExile ""] WAIT!!! I forgot one!!! Quo Vadis from Canada, they're insane! |

______________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:15am - mOe ""] Devourment Nevermore Necrophagist (some big metalcore band) and then at least 10 GOOD local bands you have yourself a fest that will draw DAMN well |
______________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:16am - mOe ""] oh yea, and Behold...the Arctopus |

No, they're a 4 piece and get a fill in guitarist when they play live the lead guitarist and drummer are still the same, they got a lead vocallist and I think a new bassist... I'll go check now. EDIT: they're looking for a bassist |
______________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:18am - Morbid_Mike ""] DreamingInExile said:well, Novembers Doom is very easy to get intouch with (seeing since they're friends with Shroud), and will probably ask for us to play as well if you get them. If you're looking into other Doom bands, look into Swallow the Sun, Mourning Beloveth, Confessor, even getting prices for My Dying Bride may be a good idea (because people would come from all over to see MDB) as far as other North American bands to look into: Nevermore Cryptopsy Nile Morbid Angel Cannibal Corpse Iced Earth Deicide Absu (may not draw that much, but they're sick) Vehemence Vital Remains (preferably WITHOUT Glen Benton) Neuraxis Augury (not many people know of them, but they're brutal as fuck) Cattle Decapitation (impressed the shit outta me when I saw 'em) Embalmer Immolation Suffocation Capharnaum (but you'll need wheelchair access) 'local' acts to consider: Porphyria Seed Coffin Birth Hatchet Extinction Agenda Valasyrka Shroud of Bereavement (yes, I'm suggesting myself, I'm such a whore) A Terrible Night for a Curse Hand Choke Neck Life at Zero Goreality Burning Oath I don't meen to toot my own horn but I would like to add Burn My Remains to the list of local bands cause hey we ain't that bad...I think |
______________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:19am - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] I like the Quo Vadis from Poland, but not really the one from Canada. |

How would you split up the nights though? Devourment & Necrophagist headline one? (metalcor) & Nevermore the other night? |
______________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:22am - mOe ""] yup, well it depends on how many nights/stages there are New England has enough local bands that wouldnt accept any money to play, yet would draw damn well at something like this actually, i'd be a dick and split the ultra cool DM headliners between the nights to ensure the crowd stayed diverse |
______________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:22am - Morbid_Mike ""] P.S. I think Devourment would get a decent draw and I believe they only require 500$ and they are fucking brutal...anybody agree? |

So if all goes well catch us sometime. |
______________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:24am - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] There is no lack of guttural br00tal slammasters in this region, so they would in fact draw pretty well. |
______________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:26am - Morbid_Mike ""] Grind has a big following or gore grind I guess you would call that I am a huge fan of Lust of Decay and would pay good money to see them live. |

______________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:32am - MadOakDevin ""] i would pay soooo much money to have devourment drive the fuck back home. most overrated band in this area. |
______________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:34am - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] I'm not really a fan of them either. All I can hear are Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, and Deicide riffs, played a little faster but not any more interesting. I did think the newer CD was an improvement. But people do love them. |

That i would'nt know I havent been to too many grind shows around the area although I would consider Goreality somewhat death grindish same with Sexcrement and those bands draw well from what Ive seen and heard. Hopefully neither band takes offense to being called Death Grindish cause they are both fucking BROOTAL! |

______________________________ [Jun 21,2006 11:51am - mOe ""] this is how i'd do it (not that anyone gives a rat's ass, i'm just bored) but charge 30 bucks have doors be at 1, first band at 2 20 minute sets for locals 35 minute sets for bigger locals 50 minutes for headliners no pussy ass barricade Local Bands (not totally in this order) Dour Cursiva Throwing Shrapnel Kings Last Chance to Reason Buckhunter Eva Braun 3 Headed Monster Shroud of Turin In Our Blood The Nicaea Room War on Our Shores The Taste of Silver The Final Battle In Dire Need BEHOLD...THE ARCTOPUS Porphyria (some sort of local favorite NE band reunion) Hammer Brothers Since the Flood Mercury Switch Necrophagist Devourment Nevermore (big stupid metalcore band, so nevermore wouldnt be playing to half a room) |

__________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 12:00pm - DreamingInExile ""] I know. I was at that show, both days. it may have been better had it not been in that creepy mill building. maybe Aftershock, Red Tide, Blood Has Been Shed, or one of the other countless bands that were sacrificed to form Shadows Fall or Killswitch |
______________________________________________ [Jun 21,2006 12:02pm - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] Isn't Blood Has Been Shed still around though? I guess not. I think you'd want something like Ten Yard Fight. |

I only mentioned TYF because if you were to have Hammer Bros and Since the Flood playing, you're going for more of a mix metal/hardcore lineup and they'd fit right in. Lots of bands on that list that mOe wrote I've never even heard, I'm checking them out. |
