The absolute highlight of my evening, however, was watching some huge obese lady bouncing her pendulous fat sacks off the reverend's back while he was trying to take pics of dehumanized. |

_________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 2:44am - Paulll ""] Showed up late. anoxia was pretty sick. still again I think dave made the band better (just my opinon), Internal suffering was sick, although the sound in the place didnt do them too much justice. Malignancy I thought was the best of the night. The sound was thick as hell and they played a nasty set. Dehumanized was definatly fucking excellent. Actually got a chance to move for them this time without getting into fights, and they played terminal punishment...excellent. To the fat kid who apparently threw beer at me and matt thats cool man free beer for us, and a waste of your money. Overall a pretty good night. |

______________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 4:19am - the_reverend ""] this was probably the best sound I've heard from all these bands. it's awesome that a show is in the upstairs of the palladium when all but 2 of the bands post here. the attendance was a few people higher than I thought would have come out. death without weeping: I've seen them play better, but the sound they were given was awesome. the cheif was a little bit out of control... I think their set would have been better if he played it 15% more sober. chris kessaris's riffs are less and less just noodles tossed on top of the DWW salad and more integrated into the music. I think they only song he noodled was in the beginning. Porphyria: with rusted angel illing, they played pretty awesome. I really hope they fill the 2nd guitarist soon. the missing riffs need to be put back. besides that, they had fun and the crowd seemed to like them anf get bigger towards the end of the set. eyes closing, the rest later. |
__________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 5:38am - Kalopsia ""] i just got home myself. damn what a fuckin drive. well worth it though. i had a good time, and it was a good show. i'm glad everyone was satisfied with our set (though it was cut short one song), all the other bands did really good as well. tonight was definately the best i've ever heard Malignancy play. but Porphyria was out of extra large shirts!!!!! |
_______________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 9:31am - joe/notcommon ""] I missed the first band. Porphyria was ok, not as tight as the other time I saw them and they were down one guitarist. Teratism played good, but the sound at the Palladium is horrible so nobody really sounded that great. Atleast I could hear the bass this time. I like. Anoxia also played good, I heard they are not going to be playing out as much anymore, which is wicked fucking gay because I am starting to get into them now that Brian has found the use of the volume knob on his amp. Internal Suffering I didn't pay much attention too because the Palladium staff are a bunch of nazis. At this point in the show I wish I had not gone. Malignancy also played good but sounded bad because the Palladium hires blind and deaf people to do sound. Or maybe it's just the room? I don't know. I cannot understand why people love that dump so much. Dehumanized has always been one of my least favorite death metal bands, they opened with an old song called 'I can benchpress a real fucking lot, guy'. After a couple of old songs, they went into their new song 'Taking off my shirt gets all the metalcore wimps to shuffle around like the faggots they are'. Needless to say, all the metalcore wimps actually did start shuffling around like the faggots they are. They went into another new song called 'We are now NY's answer to Shadows Fall' and then 'We rented this sound from the Red Chord'. After that I had to leave. Highlight of the night, Serge representing Boston Metal while all the metalcore homos were trying to do their gay pride shuffles. Nothing stopped him from fist pumping and headbanging to every song from every band. |

_______________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 12:19pm - the_reverend ""] serge did spend the entire show doing this [img] [img] while people kick flipped and moshed around him. that kid is awesome. one crazy, russian mofo who head bangs the entire show and even after getting hit in the head with brian's (watchmaker) saw, he doesn't stop. |
__________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 12:21pm - mathais ""] i only saw the last 2 bands but... Malignancy - emperial march intro won me over. I couldnt see most of the band, except the guitarist, who is a virtuoso, bombarding the crowd with about 800 grinding riffs. not one of them in 4/4 time...lots of confused headbangers... Dehumanized - lots and lots and lots of breakdowns. but it was cool to hear riffs with a simple pulse, for those who lack ADHD and/or suck at math...but they were not without moments of insanity, and straightforward brutality usually makes the best live metal. NEED MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS |
_____________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 12:54pm - Septicemic ""] i accidently elbowed that kid in the head one time, but it was an accident. i was really trying to avoid him, but sometimes don\'t look where i\'m going. This was a sic show, tho so glad i went. Tho i missed Porphyria, and DWW, the rest of the bands were killer. Thats the best i\'ve heard Internal Suffering live, yet. |

______________________________________ [Jun 12,2005 5:25pm - the_reverend ""] teratism: so now mike (DOM) sings? rob (boston's air guitar champ) announced to the whole word that he actually does drum for blistered earth (his doppleganger, greg, was there, but I didn't see them together cause that would have meant the end of everything). their set was pretty nasty. being someone who was close to the stage and/r on the stage, I thought that their sound was really good. I didn't hear it from the back, but everything from the tri-vocals to the drums to the guitars sounded great. by the end of their set, a lot of people were tossing up horns. hopefully, they will be openning downstairs for a band like napalm death if they come around touring. anoxia: much better soundwise than all the other venues I've ever seen them in. the only thing that was wrong with their sound was the vocals were a bit too loud. they took a really long time to set up so their set wasn't very long. I swear, maybe 6-7 songs @ 2minutes per song. internal suffering: this is the first time that I saw them that the drums were as punishing as they are on their CDs. Maybe it was cause for a song or two, I was back behind the drummer, but it was pretty awesome to watch the drummer playing. malignancy: at first it started off with the vocals squeeling way too high, but after a minute or so, the sound was pretty awesome. it was actually the best I've heard them... eh.. actually, I think one of the NY shows sounded better. compared to the bombshelter, and some other places, I've seen them, the sound here was much better. you could actually tell what was going on. last time I saw them, I thought that I would like to see them live with 2 guitar players. after this show, I decided that that would be way too much. Oh, and roger was wrong. if you heard him say "we haven't play here since 1999 though rev from return to the pit says 2000". I was correct, when I told him may 6 2000: http://www.returntothepit.com/concert.php?date=2000-05-06&band=malignancy warning the pictures are horrible... this was with my 1999 digital camera and was the first RTTP show I shot. as always, it was fun shooting pictures of roger running laps around the stage. dehumanized: well, these dudes definitely don't disappoint. this was another awesome set. I don't think that their CD does their live set justice. Also, those new tracks that everyone was bitching about or whatever, well, live they are completely brutal. at one point john, the singer went incredible hulk and shredded his shirt, tossing it in the crowd. some bald dude was super psyched to get that as a souvenir. |

_____________________________________ [Jun 13,2005 12:00am - El Justin ""] ok i missed death without weeping and porphyria. i suck. teratism: caught most of their set. solid band. their one guitarist rob gave me their cd in bellingham in Dec. and it ruled up until my cds got stolen. i remembered some songs off the cd that they played. the 3 singer thing rules..they really have their shit together. their drummer is awesome too. sucks he won't be with them anymore. anoxia: i thought they were a lot better than the time we played with them in bellingham. cool stuff but the sound was weird with them and i couldn't hear the drums really. i miss the lead singer's ponytail too. i want to hear them on cd, and then i would probably appreciate them more. internal suffering: they played a great set. it's awesome they signed with unique leader. the fans blowing the bassist and drummer's hair made it that much more epic. they seemed like they were having sound problems which sucks. they rule though. malignancy: so good. i saw them play the same set (for the most part) ast week at the hudson duster in troy. the sound was probably better their but they were way more intense at the palladium. the guitarist has the best tone ever. these guys are so underrated outside of the northeast. i want a new album asap. dehumanized: they opened up with my 3 favorite songs by them. they get tighter every time i see them too. i like the new songs, even though some people say they're "metalcore". whatever, it's good and catchy as hell. i want to hear a new full length from these guys soon too. i can see them getting supe popular within the year too. i also saw the tiny spanish dude with the iron neck headbang through entire songs during dehumanized's set. carina looked amused. |
