yes, it definitely is, but why are there no females in metal who are truly good players having fun?

there are, they just arent accomplished enough for you to notice

like who Mr. know it all? in what metal bands? There's a few but none of them make you go 'WOW, she is an insane guitar player!"

If we setup a ratio between how many male/female guitar players are recognized as accomplished guitar players. It would probably be a thousand to 1. I think that sucks.

okay, so you listed 3 bands that feature female players, none are death metal, and none are as recognized as bands featuring male players.

nope not true. most bassists arent soloists because bass solos aren't used in alot of typical songwriting. since most bassists don't have the opportunity to play solos in the bands they're in, they dont learn soloing skills. doesnt make bass easier, bassists just develop a different set of skills.

ahh guitarists and their egos

I already said that when I stated that "most bassist's are in the background of the music". It makes it a lot easier to join bands as a bass player because it's not prominent in the music so all you need are basics. It's much harder to find a good bass player than it is to find a good guitar player. How is that?

heh, that's probably true. i just love the bass is all, must defend its honor.

as for the musicianship argument, I respect and aspire to be like accomplished and knowledgeable musicians. Technical music is my favorite kind of music. In fact, i think musicians who understand scales/chord progressions etc. are often BETTER songwriters because they understand how certain chords/tonalities flow and resolve.

There are definately way more men then women, but the same ratio probably applies to fans of metal, especially gay fucking death metal.

Noelle from Hellblock6 is good, I love her tone and style and she has alot of fun playing.

For death metal: Borborygmus

and the people who don't have at least some sort of respect for accomplished musicians are usually the people who can't write songs at all, hahah.

for the record: I suck at guitar but I have fun anyways.

Seeing others who have ridiculous ability/technique gives me motivation to improve though, knowing that once I get to a certain point it will be EXTRA fun knowing that I don't have many boundries.

thanks, you now see what I'm saying at least. There are quite a few women into metal these days and almost every girl I've seen who is into metal / death metal doesn't play an instrument, or if they do it's probably bass and it just sits in the corner of their room collecting dust.

It comes down to this, I would really like to see some nasty super good female guitarists/drummers in this world.

ok, i actually agree with you on most of this.
and even though they're not metal, China, the (late) drummer of DMBQ/Shonen Knife was incredible. I think everyone in Sleater-Kinney is great also, especially the way the guitarists complement each other's playing.

Isn't death metal supposed to be about killing and raping women, not helping them get ahead in the world.
This is beyond gay. We now have death metal feminists. Death metal is so fucking over. Nunslaughter is the only death metal band that still deserves to exist.

At the first Deathstock show in '94 Demonic Christ played. I was working at the club where it was and I went into the office to get something and walked in on my friend banging Dana on the desk.
