______________________________________ [Oct 19,2005 4:03pm - the_reverend ""] I think that a lot of the "indie" kids are getting into drone. so there will be a lot more nerd glasses to mix with the guys that don't wash at the earth show. |
_____________________________________ [Oct 19,2005 10:10pm - anonymous ""] what happened to MotA? |
_________________________________________ [Oct 20,2005 2:28am - attendmyrequiem ""] good for them. better than listening to most indie bands... i have my exceptions: cursive, minus the bear, and codeseven. |

It also proves my point....those are labels run by people who got their start with noise rock/metalcore/doom (same with Release/Relapse which started). Those are not originally noise kids. Other way around. I know many people into that stuff and some of them hate metal in all its forms (doom included). But who cares? No reason to argue about it. Sorry for my earlier comment. |
_____________________________________ [Oct 20,2005 11:00pm - anonymous ""] it's just like those kids to jump into the next "cool" style, so they can say that they were listening to it years ago. |

_________________________________________ [Oct 21,2005 3:39am - attendmyrequiem ""] yeah, well we're kinda "arguing" the same point. I just wanted to state at shows alot of the kids i see at doom shows i see at noise shows. weather they got into it from some other sub-genre doesn't really matter to me. it's just the kids who dig seem to dig one seem to dig the other. _____________________________________ [Oct 21,2005 12:33pm - anonymous ""] oh, you were the trendy kid with the pelican sweatshirt on. now i remember where i've seen you guys before. i think i saw your band once. what is the name of your band again? if you are in fact who i think you are, i left half way through. not very good, dude. but you know, keep going. someone might dig it someday. |
_________________________________________ [Oct 21,2005 1:10pm - attendmyrequiem ""] I doubt you saw my band unless you were one of the 10 kids in Jonah's basement. Everyone there knew we had only been together for about 4 or 5 weeks before that "show" and that we were playing just to see if Jonah could get away with having loud music come from the basement of his new apt. the name of my band is We are Titans!. I hope you show up to our future shows, so we can make you stand outside in the cold while you avoid hearing our awful music. That's actually our goal as a band. To make people cold while we keep all the heat for ourselves. Titans are greedy bastards. |

_______________________________________ [Oct 22,2005 11:49am - the_reverend ""] village of dead roads: I sort of agree on the drumming. it was much different from ocean/conifer. they had a good feel to them over all and a lot of parts that I liked. I'm not sure about the whole clean singing... but good none the less. it was funny to watch them cause there was some fucking/drinking/partying TV playing behind them. I kept finding myself spacing out and watching the tubes. ocean: what an awesome band. I think that they will definitely do well with the new cd and all. I think that deedee's is a little too small for them. they need to have a bit more room so they can crank up the volume a bit. I think they were playing with their set up on 3 so some of the really sparce parts weren't as thick sounding as they usually are. Dr. Phil was playing behind them. that was funny. Goldblade: they probably had the best crowd response and participation of any band that I've seen at that venue. they were a middle aged punk-rock band. the music wasn't really good or anything, but it was fun for the people that were there to really enjoy the show. |
