Review: keep in mind this whole time my cold migrated to flu like symptoms and I got the worst headache ever. Plus nausea. *Devil In The Kitchen -- Always fun, but the sloppiest set I've ever seen or heard them play. Even their practices are tighter. Still, Stashes solos saved the day, and I did a little Lord Of The Dance jig with one of the dudes from Valhalla (I believe his name is Adam...I'm TERRIBLE with names) *HBBSI -- The stage antics were really funny. Not as good as last time I saw them but still fun. Really great grind if you like the old style of playing. Too much time between songs, but Monica's vocals get better every time. Over the past 3 shows she's really fleshed out as a member of the band. I even detected a little more emotion on her part, which is awesome. *Catalyst - These guys were really good. The singer seemed off with the rest of the band...not quite in sync either time-wise or with the creative ideas they had. Nevertheless, great death metal. Why did they go on here? They brought some people and they were lost when they played so early. Either way, they were good. I do believe they are playing the Mucopus/Clitorture show in December. *Valhalla - Yay! These guys are really fun. Ok, so they were sloppy. Ok, so you couldn't make out all the parts. And yeah, at times they seemed a tad amateuresque. But you know what? They're a good time, Brian's lyrics are AWESOME (dude, the stuff about forests and stuff is great!), and he's a really good front man. I was actual kinda scared...I think I understand that face make-up stuff now. I'm really looking forward to seeing this band Saturday, especially since everyone will be in garb. Give these guys a year, and a good chunk of praticing, and they will show up many bands in the area by being the only Black Metal band around...and the most tr00 at that! Some Great riffs here. A tad repetitive (the drummer could fix this by doing a bit more as far as diveristy, to detract from it) and a bass player would help flesh out the feel of the tremolo picked parts. Give these guys some shows so they can grow more into being what they have the potential to be. *The Taste of Silver -- We had a band practice on Tuesday and talked about stuff we can do to get tighter and have more presence live. I think it paid off because we had a lot of energy and were pretty tight for most of the set. We also mapped out the set before hand as far as songs, and did a set list (gasp!) so we wouldn't go to long or too short. That was a totally sweet move, one we should repeat. People were encouraging and I had a blast. Now I must go die in a bed. I feel like shit. Love, me.
