Converge241 said:
one number =221 rushing yards by the steelers on Halloween :) and people like to say Dillon was out , ty got hurt light got hurt etc but in that Halloween game casey hampton was out kendrell bell was out kendall simmons was out and duce staley got hurt Steelers have a bad history being the favorite in the AFC title game..good thing they are the underdogs and are getting no respect this time PLUS we got schilling on OUR MOTHERFUCKING SIDE!! thats some serious power there..lending mojo to get a superbowl title after 25 years is small when you GOT THE SOX THE SERIES?!?
No, 221 is not the important number. The important number is 42 minutes. That's how long the Steelers had the ball for. THAT is where Corey Dillon comes in. As for players being out, I'm sorry, but none of the injured Steelers players impacted the game the way Corey Dillon does. You can point at Deuce Staley all you want, Jerome Bettis is better and is the exact same player. Kevin Faulk vs. the Pittsburgh D is a HORRIBLE matchup. 221 happens because of 42. The Patriots ran the ball SIX times in the ENTIRE game. Corey Dillon prevents 42, which prevents 221. Our best defense in that game was Corey Dillon. Not only did Corey not play, but Matt Light got hurt on the first drive, and Tom Ashworth was already out. You can't tell me that having two new o-lineman in the game didn't contribute to all of the Steelers sacks and the fumble and also contribute to Brady rushing his throws. All I am saying is that if you give me Corey Dillon, Matt Light, Deion Branch and two corners that have come into their own since October 31st, I like my chances... A LOT. Ty Law and Ty Poole aren't options, so their names shouldn't even be brought up in the conversation. Besides that, the Steelers didn't do themselves any favors talking the amount of shit they talked that day. There are a lot of bitter men in that Patriots locker room, and one of them is named Bill Belechick. Any time I've got Bill on my side and he's pissed, I REALLY like my chances...
