look at the line up. Basically, everyone is on the same level. wait, scratch that. there are two levels, local bands that I know and local bands that I don't know. Give that, it's probably hard for jarhotrod to place the bands in the shows. Ascendancy's sound is like that of most death metal bands, they need a good producer to get their sound just right on CD. I think that will be an issue and they will either have to dish out mad $$$ for a disc or get a mad hook up with a label. Personally, I love their sound. it's like having our own local Hate Eternal/Morbid Angel with a brazilian DM drummer. Granted, I haven't seen them live with the guitarist not all gimped up, but I will this weekend, twice. The drummer doesn't match the band in one way, he goes absolutely crazy head banging with hair flying every where and the rest of the band doesn't move around that much. I agree with the bassist, she just sort of stands there, staring blankly into space. she needs to get a wireless-cable and run into the crowd swinging her bass and playing chords of the bridges of people's noses. I'm sure as their line up is solid they will get better and more comfortable live.
