[QUOTE="SUBJUGATE:272063"]Saturday night, June 25th at: The Mallard (click link for a map) 508-583-0868 24 1/2 Intervale St Brockton, MA 02302 Check it Out: On Saturday June 25, the three members of WARGASM, plus assorted members of STEEL ASSASSIN, TRIPHAMMER, MADD HUNTER, EVERY SECOND, and TONGUE & GROOVE will perform at a benefit concert at the Mallard in Brockton, Massachusetts. Three bands consisting of the above-mentioned musicians will be formed specially for this occasion and will perform the music of IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, MOTÖRHEAD, MERCYFUL FATE, DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH, UFO, ANGEL WITCH, ACCEPT, SCORPIONS, RAINBOW, CHEAP TRICK, SAXON, Y&T, RIOT, DEF LEPPARD, KROKUS and TYGERS OF PAN TANG. There will be three one-hour sets. Doors open at 8; $10.00 admission, 21+. The benefit is for Jim Blute, former manager of WARGASM and STEEL ASSASSIN, and former booking agent for the Kenmore club (a staple of the Boston metal scene in the mid-'80s). Together with WERS DJ Mike Jones, Blute gave the Boston metalheads their own radio show and a place to hear metal and see great bands play. METAL CHURCH, EXODUS, FATES WARNING, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, TALAS, TANK, RAVEN, ARMORED SAINT, SAXON, and many more were booked into the Kenmore Club by Jim. Local bands were ALWAYS on the bills as openers, and many of the bigger local bands of the era got their start via Jim. Critically ill for months, in and out of a comatose state, with multiple organ failures and many complications, Jim needs assistance and his friends want to help. What better way to raise money to help out than by playing his favorite music all night? If you're into old-school '70s and '80s metal, or if you're into any of the musicians/bands that are performing, or just want to help out and give respect to a true local metal pioneer, come down to the gig.
