niccolai nli said:
Up until say.. 60 years ago My grandfathers were having land taken from them, thier language was not allowed to be taught in thier native land. before that there were tax limits on wealth they could have, the women were raped, the men were killed. We were driven nearly to the brink of extinction and saw poverty that urban black familly's wouldn't understand... and still my dad hasn't stolen a plasma TV. To date my father and grandfather have yet to shoot at a medical helicopter. They have not dropped thier children off at the steps of a hospital so they could run away from a flood without having the burden of a child on them.
I'm sure your dad hasn't, but I'm also sure plenty of people that share your ethnicity have commited the same crimes as blacks, whites, puerto ricans, or anyone else for that matter that exists in a poor economic structure. Believing that any group of people are born to be criminals or because of the color of their skin that they are more likely to be criminals is pure idiocy and ignorance. Seriously, what makes more sense... Saying "oh, these people are black... they must be criminals!" or realising people regardless of color or race born into neighborhoods with nothing are the ones likely to commit crime?
