so i was listening to Until Your Heart Stops and then Perfect Pitch Black...[views:1380][posts:9]__________________________________________________ [Sep 18,2005 10:36am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] what the fuck happened to Cave-In? Steve Brodsky and Adam wrote some fucking incredible shit for Until Your Heart Stops...basically redefining the limits of metal and hardcore for the next 5 years following, and then Perfect Pitch Black is like...it's still not that shit. Why did they abandon what they were doing?? It was unprecedented and still no one's emulated it. |

I don't think they redefined anything though, bands were already adding psychedelia, space rock and other influenced into metal/hardcore for over a decade before that came out. This new one is fucking terrible, it just doesn't work how they mix everything together. Not for me. |
_________________________________________________ [Sep 18,2005 1:57pm - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] you consider until your heart stops psychadelic? |
_____________________________________________ [Sep 18,2005 2:54pm - DrinkHardThrashHard ""] Not entirely, but then again 'psychedelic' is an ambiguous term. But I can't deny some of the space rock and ambient elements (as well as the segues), which some consider psychedelic. I'm pretty sure one of the members of the band (who are from my town) actually called their new direction 'psychedelic' in a conversation once when describing it to me (this was before UYHS came out). |
