intricateprocess said:
i dunno bout keeping cabrera.........renteria did make a shitload of errors, but did hit a lot better than cabrera. clement has a history of falling apart after the all star break. everyone knows it, unfortunatley we took a chance, and it blew up in our faces remlinger and jose cruz jr were 2 of the most pointless things ive ever seen. espically remlinger since he flatt out fucking sucks. foulkes problems should be addressed and taken care of before letting him come to the big club and blow costly games manny has some kind of stipulation in his contract, the 5 and 10 thing(5 years with the same club,10years in the league) which gets you some kind of crap. im not going to pretend i know. he wont be back next year,i know that. damon said he wont take a "hometown discount". so he will be looking for big bucks we will go out this year and get a big name first baseman(bye millar). paul konerko is name thats been floated around. i dont think billy mueller will be leaving, but goddamn id like to see Youkillis in the lineup(talk of him possibly at second,if not him than look for top prospect Hanley Ramirez to be there) pitching is a cluster fuck. wells is damn near done. he may have another season left. clement has to be able to pitch a whole fucking season, not just half schilling just hasnt looked like the same guy after that off season surgery (he is also like 41-43) papelbon will definatley be in the rotation. Craig Hansen, and Manny Delcarmen will also probably fit into the picture somewhere.
Cabrera would go 1 for 4, but that one hit was always a crucial, late inning hit. there's something more to the reason why we got rid of him. we'll probably never know. Clement is planning on making a serious change in his mechanics and delivery. You can see him flinch when the batter makes contact, and his style leaves him wide open with little reaction time. He's acknowleged this, but couldn't start any mechanics changes in the middle of the season. hopefully he figures it out. Don't know what will become of Foulke. the entire organization is pissed that he just took off, when Kapler, who can't even walk right now, was still there supporting his team after his season ended. Schilling all but admitted that it was Foulke who made those anonymous comments about him to the Herald. (that Schilling interview last week was one of the best i've heard all year.) People forget that Schilling was said to need 18 months of recovery after his surgery. He had 5. What happens? He doesn't look the same and he hurts himself again. He simply shouldn't have played this year. He will look more like his true form next year, and by the summer will be the King again.
