So here I am, in for almost a month.
First week, in the woods (Brumunddal, about 1 hour north of Oslo). The was great and quiet, I got to do the usual family trips. Nothing much to do beside watching TV, getting laid, and walking for 40 mn before hitting the first store.
Moved to Oslo New Years Eve, then I got trashed, when I say trashed I was trashed. Coke wicked expensive so that's going to be rare occasions which is for the best. Booze wicked expensive and that sucks, thankfully we have a hook up from a dude who deals with the Russian mafia...but he lives wicked far away. Mix of people at the party we were at, metal heads and punks, I hung out with the punks.
Then it's time to get the paper, aka residency permit, 2 options: family reunification but that doesnt work cause I havent been with my boyfriend for 2 years (that is I could lie, I'm white, female and European), so I'm going for the work permit. They wont give me my residency permit (and tax number, health insurance etc) until I got a job. I cant look for a job now cause I have to go to France first and take care of some business.
So I've been studying Norwegian non-stop, by myself, online and with books. I'm getting there, get me a few shots of vodka and I will speak. Not allowed to free Norwegian classes cause I'm part of EEU. Whatever.
Bars sucks, the best one (Elm Street) is too expensive so we go there when we're already well lit. Appolion from Aura Noir works there, ha. We go to the cheap ass bar, which is half price from the first for the same beer.
Food is good, I started eating fish again. Norwegian eat super healthy and a lot of prep food as well, frozen pizzas everywhere, kebabs and falafel everywhere.
Immigrants are mostly Pakistany which rule cause I can find dirt cheap food and obviously Indian food everywhere and that is wonderful, a few Vietnamese/Korean as well. Good for me. Most of the bars are run by Pakis...but this is - I think - mostly in Oslo. Not one once of colored people in small villages and town.
Norwegian people are wicked friendly, really, including metal heads. They are suckers for walks in the wood, on foot or on skies, nature walks etc etc.
As far as hotnest, well I havent find - you know - the one that would strike out (girls or guys)...yet.
Show wise, punk and garage so far, the metal is coming.
Most of you probably wont give a damn about this but I guess it's mostly for friends so you guys know I'm doing great, and I have to say again and again and again, glad to be back in Europe.

awosme to see ya doing great ann i guess it is rhode island it just sucks your life right out of ya hahahahha.i love how ya use the word "wicked"ya still have a little ri in ya hahahahhah.and thanks again ann for all the help you gave thenightmarecontinues... over the years.you really hooked us up with fuking awsome shows,and i will never forget our first show taht i bugged ya for months to get on and ya hooked it.it was nile at lupos(the old),man how many local bands get to play their first show on a huge ass stage and with fukn nile???? thanks ann i will NEVER forget

Carina, you're more than welcome to visit but start saving if you intend to get shitfaced. But I'm serious. Once we get a apartment I'll let you know. We aim for July but we'll see.
Greg, RI did sucked the life out of me. The last months I spent there were absolutely aweful (and great too cause of my friends, I did have a good time hanging out). You did bug me for a lot of shows, but you know what, only persistance pays off...so what the heck? I hope you're good in CA.

Anne, I tried to go to those record shops in Montreal you reccomended but they were all closed. Next time I will not go to Montreal at 1am on a Sunday.

Yeah I should have told you that, everything close super early (like 5pm or something) unless you come on Thursday then I think shit stays open late.
Infoterror, I owuld but I dont need too, its not cold, probably warmed that RI. I'm in the South not up North, and Norway has a pretty much mild climate considering is so up North, Gulf Stream baby...
