Tesseract appreciation thread[views:1050][posts:5]________________________________________ [Feb 15,2006 3:17pm - ArrowHead nli ""] I've posted about this guy before, but he's got new tunes up. This is ONE kid. He was like 17 when he started writing and posting this stuff. He plays guitar and bass. He programs all his drums on Drumkit From Hell Superior. If I hadn't told you, you'd never be able to tell. He plays through an Engl Powerball, so Rusted Angel can get all horny. http://www.myspace.com/tesseract Mister tesseract man, we salute you. |

_____________________________________ [Feb 15,2006 3:26pm - RustedAngel ""] I've been checking out tesseract stuff for a while now...I believe his setup has changed a little since his older stuff. I think he said he's using a POD now because he was sick of playing around with mic placement. |
________________________________________ [Feb 15,2006 3:30pm - ArrowHead nli ""] He used a Pod on a lot of stuff. Those last two clips up there are pod, but I honestly could never tell the difference. My friend got the Podxtlive floorboard thingy. Sounds absolutely retarded. The Engl, Deizel(sp?), and other botique heads sound dead on. I'm going to get one of those, and record it direct as well as miced through an amp and cab. |
______________________________ [Feb 15,2006 3:40pm - Blue ""] the xts are definetly very solid, but i find the high gains to be a bit on the fizzy side. pod 2.0 was definetly my favorite version of theirs (considering i used one for years). |

I think it's because with digital distortion you're able to get levels of gain that real tubes don't. I got in the habit of backing off on the gain and have gotten some pretty realistic sounds. Just listen to that tesseract stuff, you'd never know whats a pod, and what's a real engl. |
