Bloc Party appreciation thread[views:2224][posts:6]________________________________ [Feb 23,2006 11:36pm - Murph ""] Out of all the different shit people listen to (outside of metal) on this thing, does anyone enjoy the band Bloc Party. I found them early last year and I think they're songwriting and sound are very tight, and they production has a sort of DIY vibe to it (esp. the drums.) They are quite unique, though def drawing hugely on early eighties Brit-pop and some of the newer groups trying to capture that sound. The singer/guitarist has a distinct voice and I dont know why, but they are awesome. Let the interesting posts begin, because I'm sure plenty of people hate this band or have never heard of them, but, check them out regardless. |

___________________________________ [Feb 24,2006 12:25am - brian_dc ""] they kind of sound like XTC at times...so that makes them somewhat acceptable. I don't like a lot of choruses though....I hate choruses so much as a concept that if they're in a song, they better have something cool going on. It seems like they just kind of phone it in whenever they get to the chorus. Murph, you probably expected me to shit on you for this...no satisfaction for you. |
