read this on another message board, O'Brien's Pub in Allston is indeed going through another transition phase due to a change in Management and Booking. Matt Nault will be the General Manager and will handle all the manegerial and staffing. Matt has been working at both Great Scott and O'Bs for a couple years now in addtion to playing in a band, so he may already be familiar to some. Tim Philbin (GM of Great Scott) will also be increasing his involvment in the operations of the club. Carl Lavin (screen name: DS Bruce Robertson) will take over the primary booking responsibility for O'Bs. Shows that are booked will stay booked. I'm meeting with Martin today so that I can get up to speed on what's booked, what's held and which dates need bands. Bands looking to be proactive can email me at booking@greatscottboston.com to make sure that I've got your show on the schedule. **PLEASE put "O'Briens - [date of show]" in the subject line so that it will stand out in my email box**. Emails for future booking opportunities can also be sent to that address, though there will soon be a seperate address. Ben Sisto (Honeypump/Great Scott) will handle promotion, most pressingly, getting the existing website updated and speeding up the process of the production of the new one. If you have a show booked, cc'ing Ben (ben@honeypump.net) on the email to me would likely save a step and help the process along. Including your band's website/myspace profile would be helpful as well. Martin Doyle was presented a very difficult situation, as would have anyone who stepped in at the time he did, and he juggled a ton of responsibilities in chaotic circumstances. Martin will still be putting shows together at both O'B's and GS and presumably other clubs as an independent promoter for a while. Martin gave me and The Plan its first dates back in February of 2003 at the Hideaway and I'm always going to be personally appreciative that we've had the chance to work together. I'm very excited about the prospects of his being able to kick a lot of ass in the role he's best suited for... putting on great rock shows and helping make Boston a cooler place to live. Thank you all for your interest in the goings on. We're hopeful you'll all continue to consider O'Brien's when evaluating your entertainment options. Regards, Matt, Tim, Carl, Ben
