HailTheLeaf said:
No, we started terrorizing other countries long before Iraq, but there's no justification for it now, nor has there ever been. I don't know what "their" justification is, whoever they are. Is your argument that because other countries are doing it, it's ok for us to? Because that's pretty sad, by that logic everyone should be able to have nuclear weapons, that would be fantastic wouldn't it? We were defending OIL in Operation Desert storm...and testing neat new chemicals out on "our troops", then denying them proper medical care when they came home, denying they were exposed to anything in the first place. What was our justification for napalming children in Vietnam?, they must've been a real threat. How about the secret wars in Columbia? I'm sure there's alot of justification there.
My arguement is that you can't point the finger at us saying we started everything if we didn't start everything (not to say we didn't help, or try to stop it). There is justification in invading Iraq, Saddam was a horrible man and leader, and Iraq will be better in the future now that he's gone. I also think there are many countries that were worse than them, and they have worse leaders, and we should invade them too. "I don't know what "their" justification is" - If you don't know what their justification is, then you are the one that doesn't know all the facts. Why do you act like you do. Operation Desert Storm was a war about oil. But it wasn't the U.S. fighting to get oil. It was us liberating Kuwait, who was invaded by Iraq, who wanted their oil.
