lets talk speakers people[views:1171][posts:13]__________________________________________ [Aug 28,2006 1:02am - ct borderpatrol ""] thinkin of replacing the speakers and rewiring my peavy bass cab. its got an 18 and 2 10"s. i got my eye on the carvin 800W 18 but im unsure of what to use for the 10s. http://carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=PSC18-8&CID=RSPK heres the deal, i plan on wiring up that cab to run with 2 amps since the 18 takes about 800W of power. i'd like to be able to dump around 300W into the 10s with the amp i have now so i'd like to get a pair of 10s that can handle that kind of power. lay me out some suggestions and links pls. right now i use a gallien kruger for the amp and i use heavy distortion with it. |

__________________________________________ [Aug 28,2006 2:47pm - ct borderpatrol ""] ok, thanks for mentioning that, the eminence speakers have some pretty good specs on em. im not seein any 18s on these sites. if someone can point me to non-carvin 18s that are worth a shit, that'd be appreciated |

______________________________________ [Aug 28,2006 4:13pm - Anthony nli ""] yeah EVs are great for 15 " and 18 " speakers. Also, you might just want to think about upgrading to a better quality Peavey 18 " speaker. Their higher end stuff sounds badass and is reliable. |
___________________________________________ [Aug 28,2006 10:34pm - ct borderpatrol ""] ill take this into mind. one thing im lookin for in an 18 is a real low freq response, pretty much subsonic. 30hz or lower low end ill be master of brown note |
_______________________________ [Aug 28,2006 10:47pm - blue ""] yeah, for an 18" id probably recommend a peavey black widow. maybe some slm electronics 10"s. |
_______________________________________ [Aug 28,2006 11:14pm - diamond_dave ""] yeah i was going to suggest the black widow too, but i don't know how low they go. i also wasn't sure if they made an 18, but if blue says they do, it's probably so. edit: most high power speakers, even 18's don't really get down to 30hz. maybe 35, but that's low as shit anyway. |

___________________________________________ [Aug 29,2006 12:28am - ct borderpatrol ""] niccolai said:30 hz is just inaudible rumble. I don't see any need to ever go bigger than a 15. thats part of what im goin for is that bowel moving rumble. i saw a couple of PA amps that have a low end of 20 hz on ebay. this is gonna be a part of a wall of speaker |
