MarkFuckingRichards said:
anonymous said:
I voted no. Do we really need more drunken drivers out on the streets killing people. If you wanna drink and get WASTED go for it. And if you wanna drive after, then you should just go right ahead and drive your car into a tree instead of killing innocent people!! Alcohol is sold in liquor stores and FOOD is sold in grocery stores. Alcohol has no nutrional value to it. Its sad when some people think it IS food
it's good that you voted no, but for the wrong reasons, as some already stated. i am a small business owner, so obviously no is my vote. and also, there actually is nutritional value in some alcoholic products. the problem is that in general, the US gluttonizes everything. if you go almost anywhere in europe, you can find young adults hardly legal at all, even younger children, with a glass of wine at a meal. not because they want to get wasted, just because there are less sulfides in their wine and therefore doesn't really get anyone drunk unless you drink a whole shitload. a glass of wine a day in most places in europe is kind of like the whole "an apple a day will keep the doctor away" saying in the US. since wine, beer and liquors are a large part of many european cultures, they are used to not having it excess (most of the time). obviously there will always be exceptions to the rule. some nutritional value can still be found in alcoholic beverages here in the US, but needs to be taken in with much more moderation. it would be wonderful if that sort of culture was present here in the US, but if we ever made any attempt, there would probably be a heap of trouble coming our way for years, but probably would even out eventually. still not a good idea
i agree with this statement in europe it is considered wrong and disrespectful to be drunk in public people do it cause one glass is socially acceptable although i'm edge i agree with what you have said i just choose not to drink....
