CNV said:
brian_dc said:
I guess there are a couple of issues here. First is the renunciation of religious affiliation and belief that comes with a commitment to communism. Of course, you could be talking about the asinine maternal heritage part of the Jewish tradition. Also, this is a common, and hackneyed, propaganda technique. Listing the sins of a few and applying to an overall community that has nothing to do with these few other than a tradition, illogical if you ask me, that says, "if mommy was jewish then so are you." This is the same technique that has created "white guilt" in America because of slavery. I don't know, I'm not impressed. I don't think this is an uncomfortable truth. Communism was a flavor of the time. People generally make decisions based on the environment they've been reared with. To say that Jews are more responsible for an experiment that failed than others isn't going to bother to sell me on seeing any value to buying into extreme prejudice.
Your assuming I am trying to sell people on extreme prejudice I am merely presenting facts It is very typical for organizations like the ADL and the JDL to automatically brand someone an anti semite for stating the truth It is what zionists and communists fear most TRUTH
I never once personally attacked you. I merely stated that for me, this presentation of facts (the website in particular) does not make me uncomfortable. Maybe I assumed that the goal of the website is to make the reader think less of Jews in a historical sense. Perhaps, this was rash, perhaps not. I am inclined to take the "Hmm, interesting. But it doesn't surprise me considering how popular socialist ethos were in those times." approach and leave it at that. What is your interpretation of what one should feel from these facts? My initial reaction was not to disbelieve them, but I did interpret them as not being facts for the sake of facts, but rather having an ulterior and potentially hateful purpose. Because let's face it, facts are not all that interesting without the consideration of motivation. In the case of this site being taken as "fact for the sake of facts," it just doesn't inspire or surprise. That's all.
