[band=sam_black_church]: ok, I've been a fan of live SBC for a looong time. I've seen them tons of times over 10 years ago. Back then, I thought jet was a crazy mad man and was one of the first "hardcore" shows I went to and saw a dude jump as high as he could in the air. This was a little shocking cause the jet black hair that I remembered was now gray. I'm guessing that someone stopped using just for men. Their set started by Jet looking right down and me, putting his hand on my head and launching himself into the audience. For a dude that looks like someone's dad, he had more energy than most people in their 20's. he constantly ran back and forth, jumped in the air and climbed the PA system, launching himself onto the crowd from on high. They played re-alive and a bunch of other sings that sounded the same. I was up on the balcony when they did disco inferno and tons of people from the crowd were old school swimming over the crowd to get at the mic. It's nothing short of amazing that a band who have played 2-3 shows in 10 yrs still has 900+ 21+ fans willing to come out to an early show like this. granted the average age there was sliding close to 30 and most people had to get back for their babysitters, but more shows like this need to happen. Rare events like this are what the world needs more of. I know that doesn't make them "rare" anymore if there are a lot of them... but the next reunion show I want to see is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_Boston%2C_Not_L.A. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Decontrol just think, most of those bands have already gotten back together (the freeze, I'm looking at you!). this should coin the new phrase mid-life comeback in hardcore terms.
