swamplorddvm said:
GOD "The one supreme being, the creator and ruler of the universe." The one who came out of nowhere and for some reason created this universe we live in. The one who created us humans, the one race "he" expects to do what "he" feels is right even though we had no choice of existing and would be condemned to eternal suffering for taking ones own life. The one who expects us to believe all that is written in "his" book, even though science is quickly proving it all wrong. The one who expects us to believe in a story about a man and his boat with two of each animal in the world. The one who punishes the human race for the mistake of one of the only two people on earth at the time and SUPRISE!!! It was a woman. The one who allowed "evil" empires to spread across the world in "his" name. The one who would damn us for giving in to our natural urges which "he gave us" in the first place. The one who allows the greedy and corrupt to succeed while the good suffer. The one who created and allowed the "lord of evil" (satan) to rule this world for so long. The one who mentions nothing about the Dinosaurs or the other billions of planets in "his" book. The one who explains nothing of how humans have existed alot longer than what was written in "his" book. The one who would send a decent human being to hell simply for not believing in "him". The one who was created by a man who needed an answer. In "him" I choose not to believe. -DVM
dude that is beyond true. i have several books on atheism (unfortunately i haven't gotten around to reading most of them yet, i've taken a reading break as of late) but one book i read is sheer brilliance as far as proving Christianity wrong. it's called Atheism: The Case Against God by George H. Smith. in simple terms, he dissects the very concept of the Christian god and gives logical reasons as to how "he" cannot exist. case in point: it is said that God is Omniscient and Omnipotent, all knowing and all powerful. now that's ALL knowing and ALL powerful. meaning there is nothing he doesn't know, and there is nothing he cannot do. so think about this. if god knows what the future is, then he cannot change the future. the future is out of god's control. if he could change the future, then he simply has an idea of the what the future could be, which any mere mortal could do. so basically, not even god can be both omniscient and omnipotent. Also, if god does know what the future holds, why did he even bother creating mankind? he could see what a failed experiment we would become. he already knew of WW2, 9/11, ect. well before he even created us. if he "loves" us so much, why would he have created us to put us through that kind of suffering and chaos? i once saw a movie where a man was preaching at a church. he picked up a woman's baby, held the baby out to the crowd and said "look at this child. this beautiful little child. look at his hands. now i don't have enough love for this child, to drive a stake through his hands.......... god does." does anyone else see the absolute insanity in that statement??????? finally, my favorite of all my arguments in this subject, one that i discovered myself. for any of you that might have a bible at home, open it up and read Genesis 6:6. it says "and god felt regrets that he had made men in the earth, and he felt hurt in his heart." basically what that means is, god made a mistake creating mankind. it was wrong of him to create us.....wait a second....... i thought god was infallible. think about that.
