Looks reasonable.

Nehalem chips come out in ~2wks, so prices will drop soon.

that's not what they are called. nefilim or something like that. he's just being funny.

the power supply is thin if you want to put more hard drives in there, you will kill you ps faster.
all that adobe stuff is worthless and you usually get it free with a digital camera purchase. all in all that looks like a decent system. just look for some DELL coupons. Oct/Nov is when they make up all their lost sales numbers so there should be some 25% off coupons.

though I would probably get a 32MB cache drive and up the processor to
Intel® Core™2 Q9400 Quad-Core (6MB L2 cache,2.66GHz,1333FSB)

I think this processor would serve me fine, but duely noted.

and the only 32mb cache HD they offer is the 1TB HD. I can't justify spending an extra 200 bucks on an HD that I will never fill for a 32mb cache

I'm not witty and creative like that :(

But, those chips look bad ass. All four cores working together, instead of two two-packs. Improved self-managing bus, runs memory instead of the chipset, can also handle other internal IO the same way. I didn't get fully into reading about the cache but it sounded bad-ass too.
