Schecter black Cherry Hellraiser[views:1471][posts:24]_____________________________________________ [May 11,2009 8:22pm - metal in the blood ""] Just got me one of these things. I love it. Emg's, original floyd and amazingly fast neck. Anyone got one of these or try one? |
_______________________________________ [May 11,2009 10:16pm - joeyumbrella ""] those are really nice, and play awesome. will never own on the other hand.... |
___________________________________ [May 11,2009 10:51pm - niccolai ""] When I was looking for one a while back, I opted for the Ltd mh400nt. I liked the electronic layout and inlays better. same neck profile, woods, factory, etc |
______________________________________ [May 12,2009 9:43am - BlackoutRick ""] We use a black 7 string Hellraiser. |
__________________________________________________ [May 12,2009 10:23am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] Schecters suck balls. So freaking dense you could hammer nails with them. I swear people just buy them cause they are cheap. |
__________________________________________________ [May 12,2009 10:23am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] Plus I remember when they were sold as "beginner" guitars. How they have become mainstream I have no idea. Same with First Act. |
___________________________________ [May 12,2009 10:26am - brian_dc ""] well, First Act makes some mean custom guitars. Weird business model. Only making $70 shopping mall guitars and $2000 customs. |
__________________________________________________ [May 12,2009 10:27am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] Tell me about it. I've seen First Act in both Walgreens and Bed,Bath,and Beyond. |
__________________________________________________ [May 12,2009 10:27am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] Plus the First Act that Kurt Ballou has sounds kinda weird...I recognize the tone but it reminds me of this old Univox I had once. |
___________________________________ [May 12,2009 10:29am - brian_dc ""] Yeah, I've never been enticed to get one. |
_______________________________________ [May 12,2009 10:57am - joeyumbrella ""] ever notice alot of opening bands play schecters through line 6 amps? |

_______________________________________ [May 12,2009 11:24am - joeyumbrella ""] i stick to parking lots and building 19. I swear I am telling the truth. like promise |
___________________________________ [May 12,2009 11:33am - sinistas ""] Schecter does well because they're good for the price range. Same with Line 6. Better than years ago when people would be playing Ibanez through Crate. |
_______________________________________ [May 12,2009 11:36am - joeyumbrella ""] sinistas said: Better than years ago when people would be playing Ibanez through Crate. O RLY? |
__________________________________ [May 12,2009 11:51am - reimroc ""] i would hate being a guitarist/bassist. way more things to take into consideration than drums. |
___________________________________ [May 12,2009 11:52am - sinistas ""] Well, let me rephrase. Through the Crate GX/GFX series. The low/mid-range stuff that's out today is miles better than 10 years ago. |
_______________________________________ [May 12,2009 12:06pm - joeyumbrella ""] I honestly believe its the player... I have had terrible equipment and made it work. but now my taste is finer... |
___________________________________________ [May 12,2009 12:07pm - largefreakatzero ""] Yeah? Well I've had great equipment and made it terrible. |
_______________________________________ [May 12,2009 12:08pm - joeyumbrella ""] haha I have done that as well... |
___________________________________ [May 12,2009 12:59pm - sinistas ""] Obviously the skill of the person playing makes a huge difference, but I think the instruments available at certain price levels are better these days. Sadly, I think the pricier instruments are worse. |

How they have become mainstream I have no idea. Same with First Act. Schecter guitar research started out selling replacement parts to gibson, and then was a full high end custom shop. every guitar company in the world practically has made shitty mass produced guitars (BC Rich's Bronze series, gibson's epiphone, and basically every guitar fender has ever made under any name ever). but it doesn't say a thing about the quality of thier other stuff really. schecters imports are built in a samick factory in korea and owned by the comppany that owns ESP, which are built in the same factory. and the same is true of pretty much every guitar that's made in korea... jackson, BCR, ESP, etc, etc So if you're knocking schecter's quality, you played one of the shittiest low end guitars they make, which are on par with all the other shitty low end guitars everyone else makes. |
__________________________________ [May 12,2009 8:34pm - brian_dc ""] saying every Fender is shit is incredibly biased. Tele's get some of the best sounds I've ever heard, period. |
______________________________________ [May 12,2009 8:43pm - BlackoutRick ""] agree with last two posts. |

I said that to be punk rawk. Only fenders I've ever liked have been built outside of fender factories, and by non-fender luthiers. Other then that, the only fenders I really like are... well.. jacksons. and fender is driving Jackson into the ground IMO. |
