Beloved FUCKING OWNS. Best band on the whole bill, BY FAR. This is as excited for a show as I have been since I can even remember. It's all about Beloved today. The other bands aren't bad, and I like some of their stuff, but Beloved is just amazing... |

_____________________________________ [Apr 4,2004 4:33am - the_reverend ""] haste the day: tim simpson hit the nail on the head. like zao, back when zao was good. I have yet to get one of their cds, but if it's as good as they are live, it's got to be awesome. dead poetic: man, I didn't like this band at all. I didn't like their cd, but the vocals live are so much worse... I will stop talking about them now, it's depressing me. beloved: I'd heard they were "amazing". it was a lot of hype for a band to live up to. I'll say they were pretty freaking loud. the singer also did double duties on the guitar. also, the drummer did excellent screaming backups. so they were pretty good. underoath: new singer. the new singer is so un-polish and completely wrong for the style of music that underoath does. but actually, that's why I liked his vocals better than the last singer. the last guy's vocals looked aimed at the fata-population of mtv2-land. the new guy turned those sweet vocals into horrible screams. norma jean: another new singer... it's like it's in fashion, right up there with bands cancelling shows and show getting cancelled. he seemed pretty out of place with norma jean, mostly cause he weighted over 130. his vocals weren't spot on, and were more of a hardcore scream and less metal-core that the last guy, but whatever. the guitar player for dead poetic came on and sang during memphis will be blah blah, then during another song, aaron (human flight committee/spillkit) came and sang back ups too. |

______________________________________ [Apr 4,2004 12:29pm - the_reverend ""] oh yeah, norma jean's bass hits on that one sound were melting the PA and I was standing in front of it... my pants were moving from the waves. during underoath, I fell of the stage too. I pretected my camera though by basically curling up in to a ball around it which meant I landed on the ground. how utterly human of me. |
________________________________ [Apr 4,2004 1:35pm - tbone_r ""] the crowd sucked, the pit during the first band was the most uncoordinated, awkward thing i have ever seen in my life. |
_____________________________________ [Apr 4,2004 2:46pm - the_reverend ""] anyone for some gehy sax? if so, give the thumbs up your pooper symbol |
________________________________ [Apr 4,2004 5:03pm - timmay ""] wow, i love how i lost my hat and got my sweatshirt ripped. alas, a good show. kinda gay pit. i loved how people up front were complaining about the stream of dfa's during underoath. i got an idea, dont stand up front. |
_________________________________ [Apr 4,2004 7:41pm - Blackout ""] I like Norma Jean. Minus there senceless instrament taste. Dead poetic did not belong on that venue. And 12 year old girls are XhotX. |

__________________________________________ [Apr 9,2004 11:31am - BloodyA7XGoodbye ""] wow, i must say that i was very disappointed with norma jean's performance. love the cd, hate the new singer, no intensity or presence. underoath's new singer was awesome, not as good as the old one, but still damn good. they put on an amazing show. beloved, another awesome band who as well put on a good show. missed the other two bands, but all in all it was a decent show. definitely could have been better though. |
