Who makes the musics happen at this venue anyway?
The bands that renting the venue that night, basically (there is no in house sound system). Our band has done shows there several times over the years, and will be doing one per month from April to October of next year. (The association that owns The Outdoor Pavilion charges a flat fee rental - that does not include a doorperson, soundman, the cost of making tickets, or PA - it's just the room that they provide, and a bartender if requested. Drinks at the bar are cheap but the venue keeps 100% of that money. The way we set up shows when we play there is that all the bands sell tickets in advance, and the good part is that once there's enough money to cover all those overhead expenses, the bands keep everything else; bands also split 100% of the door in addition to that. We played CTMetalFest there last month, and both Dwell from Chicopee and our band made $300 each, so it's a pretty good gig for bands that are willing to promote).
