ATTN COMPUTER NARDS: HALP!!![views:2068][posts:7]_________________________________________________ [Apr 22,2010 7:50pm - slartisian coordinates ""] so my anti virus thingy ran out of its subscription and since then my computer has been going crazy, every once in a while it just flashes this blue DOS looking screen full of text that i cant read because it goes by too fast and then the thing just restarts. Im assuming this is some sort of virus so i downloaded ad aware which ive had luck with in the past and its free, but when i try to run a scan it just craps out, is there such a thing as viruses with advanced self preservation instincts??? what is the deal?? |

A bit more involved. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ Or if you don't care about losing any data, format and reinstall windows. Easiest way to be sure. |

________________________________________________ [Apr 23,2010 1:25pm - matt_sways_in_the_wind ""] the blue "DOS" screen is the blue screen of death. in addition to malwarebytes i recommend super anti-spyware. there is a portable version that does not require installation and works the same as the free version. i've never heard of clamwin as an anti-virus but based on the other tips from that person it's probably legit. i however use AVG Free which has worked wonders, leaving me virus free for years now. |
