this was the best Suicide Dream has sounded in a very long time. They had a lot of chemistry, i actually saw Laurel smiling in Shadow's direction, usually it's seething contempt haha. You guys are really coming together, it's great to see you back in action. Hopefully the current trend continues unabated. Eternity's End for the win.
Thanks, the onstage interaction thing is funny because its so true, we usually almost never made eye contact as a band live. Part of it is because the songs just keep us so damn busy that I feel like looking away for an instant will cause a fuck up or make me miss a cue (and it's actually pretty true with the way the songs are arranged), and part of it is that improv mentality/real time connection between the three of us that on one hand makes us ridiculously tight even when we're jamming, but on the flip side makes me worry that if I give Laurel or Casey a look they might misinterpret it as a signal I don't mean or more likely just wonder what I was saying and then fuck up. It's like the musical connection is so clear that looking is distracting... if that makes any sense. So it's always a challenge to find those moments where we can make direct eye contact with the rest of the band or the crowd during a live set, but we did manage to get in a few at this show. Definitely a good time.
