I know you think it will be fun. But trust me, it isn't going to be as fun as you think when you've got no fire and you're huddled together to share warmth. How much practice do you have making fire? What about with wet materials? Assume you lose your lighter, did you bring a fire steel and some dry tinder? Do you have a survival saw to cut dryer wood from higher up on the trees? Bring any thermal blankets? There is a lot more to being prepared than packing a sleeping bag, a tent, and some pieces of armpit pizza. Part of being prepared is knowing your limitations and respecting the situation. Speaking from personal experience my advice is to enjoy winter but do it safely and comfortably whenever possible.[/QUOTE]
