Why you shouldn't book Confessions of a Gunfighter[views:4337][posts:16]________________________________ [Jun 19,2004 1:33am - xmikex ""] I went to a show tonight. One of the kids in a band called Confessions of a Gunfighter brought a PA for the show. Before the last band could play he took his PA and left the show knowing full well that there was still one band left. That's fucked up beyond anything. It doesn't matter what your thoughts are on music, or whatever. That is fucked UP, and just pathetic. Yeah, don't book that band ever. |

I'm absolutley baffled at a show can go so fucking poorly. A hall willing to let you do shows is a fucking blessing, it's an opportunity to make the best show you possibly can. Why the hell would anyone book a show if they don't intend to make something worthwhile out of it. It was booked MONTHS in advance and in all that time it wasn't promoted at all. How hard is it to get kids to come out to a show in the south shore? South shore kids are always dying for shows. But no one even knew about this. None of the bands knew anything about it. Any time I heard anything about it, it was about someone dropping it. And when a band dropped the show did they bother to find a replacement for them? NOPE. It's absolutely astonishing how fucking braindead any one person can be. But then again what did should I have expected from a bunch of NU METAL mall nerds. |
________________________________ [Jun 19,2004 8:06pm - xmikex ""] The only show I've ever seen go worse than this was an Anal Cunt show in Jamacia Plains. It was run by 15 year old (no lie) kids. For the majority of the show they had this really impressive PA with monitors and huge speakers and everything. Then while AC was loading in whoever was responsible for the PA decided to break it down and take it home. They even took the mic stands. All that was left was a combo amp, a broken PA speaker, and a broken mic stand. The conversation between Seth and the kid running the show was priceless. seth: What the hell happened to that nice PA you had before? kid: i dunno. the kid took it home. seth: Well what are we supposed to use? kid: Well there's those 2 speakers.....but one of them doesn't work....im not sure which one. seth: There's only half a mic stand there. kid: Well maybe we could tie a mic onto it with chords or something. seth: *shakes the kids hand* This is the most professional show I've ever been to. |
