South Paris, ME 04281 Joe Spiller joe@musclecityproductions.com Bio: Muscle City Productions was founded in the fall of 2001 by Jacob Simcock and Chris Carleton. At the time, Maine didn't have much going on for a music scene, and it was Muscle City's mission to bring Hardcore/Metalcore/Metal music back to Maine. Our First show was at the South Paris Fire Hall, we had Maine's Barium play. We ended up getting about 70 people, so we decided there was enough interest to do more shows. At first, we started doing one or two shows per a month to keep the show-goers happy, then over the fall of 2002, Muscle City stepped it up. Muscle City now holds a show almost every Friday and Saturday of the month. Due to the lack of venues in Maine, we often are forced to hold our shows in VFW halls and American Legion Halls. The legion hall shows are always fun and we almost always pack the them. Although Muscle City Productions concentrates on holding hardcore and metalcore shows, we are not limited to just one type of music. We regularly hold other music genre shows. Muscle City is interested in hosting shows for all types of music. Our main interest is to not only help the state of Maine out by holding the best shows possible, but also help out touring bands by offering them slots at any of our many shows. We are constantly mailing bands from all over the country letting them know that Maine is a state too and not to forget us when they are on their tour. In addition to helping out touring bands, Muscle City has a strong amount of interest in giving Maine's bands a chance. We always make a strong effort to have at least two if not three Maine bands on the bill for our shows. We recognize the potential in all of our bands and would like to give them the most amount of opportunity possible. Muscle City has done shows with the likes of: Closer Than Kin, Barium, Since The Flood, Stillborn record's Full Blown Chaos and Dead Wrong, Last Perfection, just about every band in Maine, and a number of touring bands from around the country. Muscle City would like to step up to the plate and start doing shows with bigger and more well known bands while continuing to support Maine's bands and the unheard bands from various areas around the country. This effort to bring the bigger bands to Maine is only going to happen if the bands are interested, so spread the word, let them know that Maine has a scene too, and that Muscle City Productions is serious about having them at our next show. Don't forget Maine! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Muscle City is: Chris Carleton: Business Management, Booking, and Promotion.
