Of that entire list, only 16 Horsepower get any cred from me. Sackcloth n' Ashes is AMAZING.

agreed, though it was kind of disappointing on Dead Again when he wrote that song "These Three Things" about the religious implications of abortion. however that song rules, so no need to worry about it.

Was surprised when Steele started "identifying" himself as a Roman Catholic.

At the end I'll escort you to hell
The dark one's forces
Lock your flaming cell
To murder the ones unborn
The worst sin you've ever performed
There are two other things I will tell
Know them well

With due respect
Hear these words of caution
If considering an abortion
If you dig boiling sulphur
To which I will not concur
Leading to a path of misfortune
No one won

hmmmmmmmm..............
yep, i disagree with you pete, but that song still rules.

haha yeah the lyrics are retarded, but its a 14 minute doom epic, and has some of the best sing-a-long parts on the entire album.

Someone's "smarts" and their "Christianity" cannot, by fact, be ubiquitous terms, as Christianity as a doctrine and a historical movement is wholly inaccurate, being so far removed from anything remotely historically relevant, as well as actual first-century Christianity itself. Pauline Christianity, Coptic, Greek Orthodox, whatever, have not survived well enough to even be noted as Christian.

Way to make a blanket statement. Some of the most intelligent people I know are Christians. Some of the dumbest I know are atheists. No one is jamming faith down your throat here, yet you can't resist any opportunity to bash these people. In what way are you NOT the asshole in this situation?

Newsflash, Tom Araya has been Christian for a long, long time. Dave Mustaine broke his edge, and Rihanna doesn't listen when her man be talkin to her!

Anything else we can fill you in on?

Yet the core beliefs -- the philosophy -- of Christianity still exists much as it did then.

Smart people take smart ideas from religions, and orient toward those. Idiots gear themselves toward idiotic ones, and making them atheists won't change that.

You cannot teach a 105 IQ person theoretical physics. If you do, you'll just get wrong answers.

Atheists are just as clueless as Christians/Mormons/Jews/Muslims/etc. as none of you have any clue as to whether or not there is or is not a god

And Tom Araya's been a Catholic his whole life

Um, if you read what I said, anyone is perfectly capable of being intelligent and Christian, just not that their intelligence is defined by their Christianity. By the way, your statement was as blanketed as mine. The day personal assumptions become truth is the day my toe had a tag on it, asshole.

The core beliefs of Christianity still exist? I could name dozens of brilliant scholars on both sides of the table to argue that point.

I was not saying intelligence and Christianity go hand in hand, in either case, being a slight or a compliment.

Intelligence and someone's beliefs are separate entities, sorry to disappoint.

And just to be completely honest, aside from a rational discussion, I have no problem being an asshole to any Christian, ever. If you'd personally like to absolve hundreds of years of poor leadership, cultural destruction, and shoddy historical research, please do so. If not, don't judge, because growing up in America means growing up in a Christian society, and to be unhappy with the many mishaps and judgments I've had to deal with being a fervent anti-Christian, it is impossible to be wholly objective and clear.
