GE had a set of plug in cars. they made like 2000 of them? and then recalled all of them for no reason and destroyed them. the batteries almost never have to be replaced. There's no definitive word on replacement costs because they are almost never replaced. According to Toyota, since the Prius first went on sale in 2000, they have not replaced a single battery for wear and tear. the batteries are kept between 30% and 70% charged which is the "sweet spot" for them. |

It's a V8 (LS1, the 350) that runs on only 4 cylinders when driving normally to save gas mileage, but when you need some aggressive driving, the other four cylinders kick in, adding a lot more power and torque. They're in the new Impalas and a few other cars, and they will be in the new Camaro SS when it comes out. |
